*I follow behind Floan.*

'No, I'll get an ALS bag when I takeout another victim.'

'Right behind you Tim!'

*I crawl over to Tim and follow him across the hall. I check my air supply on my way over.*

'Hey Tim, I'm running low on air too. Just above 1/4!'

*Mitch hooks up one guy and I hook up the other guy to my waist and we find a good preconnect and I hook up to it.*
'Alright lets go to the stern.'
"Rescue 1 to Raven, is that JayHawk ready? We have the PFD firefighters with us and we're heading towards the stern."

"The Jayhawk should be there when we get back. Lets hope so!"

I say as I hook up the guy from the PFD.

" matthews to floan, can we pull 4 of our crew members out for bottle re-fill?"

* i say knowing it really isnt a good idea to ditch everything, but also realizing we are all just about out of air*

" also floan, doe we have any parts of the boat not involved at the moment where re-hab and bottle exchange could take place so we are not having to leave the boat everythime?"

" Pump-11 Command to Matthews, unknown at this time what parts of the ship are and or are not effected, continue to proceed outside for rehab. Go ahead and take everybody out. drop your lines where they are and head out for rehab, but from this point forward rotate 2 at a time. "

( Remember guys, your masks dont have to be on 100% of the time lets man up here firemen, whenever possible save your air. you never know when you might need it alot more then when it is a little smokey thats what proper ventilation is for )

* I walk along the smokey corridor with the Squad crew, I notice on room 207 there is a puff of smoke coming from under the door. I look over to Davis and give him a nod. *

' Ok guys we got something here, get your masks back on '

* I feel the door top to bottom and it is warm to scalding hot. Stanging to thr right of the door with the squad on the left I take my Halligan and as im about to pop the door I hear a cry-out. I stop immediatly and look behind me it seems to be coming from the room next over. *

' Chuck, Florian did you guys hear that? '

* They both nod yes. *

' Go check it it may be another grab. I will stick by the door here. Dont go rushing into the room though make sure to check the doors first.'

'I hope so too man.'
*The boat now is uneasily somewhat quiet since we're still on the lower deck. My body has never ached this much before pulling a man that's heavier than me with my wait with a 50 foot pack that's already charged. I look at Mitch expecting he's feeling the same way then I look at his victim. I shake my head after seeing the victim is shorter and skinnier than my victime but at least Mitch is doing his job and that's what matters. We get halfway to the stern of the ship to where the jayhawk is supposed to be so I look for the closest staircase so we can climb up but then wonder how the guys are going to tugged upstairs without hurting them*
"Rescue 1 to Squad 1, we'ew on the lower deck halfway to the stern. We're ascending to the upper deck now."

*I turn around immeadiatly and feel the door.*

'Floan, it feels a little warm. Somebody's in trouble, we gotta get in there.'

' Alright Davis, take the door, Jansen stand to the side. Watch for a backdraft u guys. '

* I watch as Chuck gets into position to break in the door. *

" Pump-11 Command to OSC Raven Priority Traffic.....We need a PFD crew up on the 2nd floor Starboard side rooms for Suppression. We have several rooms effected and Pump-11 is down for rehab. "

*I jam my halligan into the side of the door and pull. The door swings open and I duck down. There's no backdraft, so I head inside and see fire engulfing the walls. There's a girl laying on the floor with her family members around her.*

'Hey guys, how bad is she hurt?'
'She was burnt.'
'Ok, we'll get her out. Can you guys walk?'
'Yeah.'
'Alright, follow me!'

'Floan, looks like we have another 3 greens and another red, most likely.'

* We head down to rehab and i just grab a new bottle, take a gulp fo water then prepare to go back in*

' is everyone fine? can we just skip re hab for now?'

* I look over at Matthews.*
'I good on rehab, al I need is a new air bottle."
* I reach the truck and pull out a new air bottle and replace the old one.*

( geeze, wheres the ladder?)

' alright then guys, we gotta get back in there'

" matthews to floan, our crew is returning to the ship, will continue suppression"

* i walk back over to the ship with the rest of the crew and re trace our steps by following the hoseline to where we left off*

*I tap Nicholas on the shoulder and then make the lets go symbol with my thumb. He nods and shuts down the line. We wwalk back to the standpipe and meet Tim and John. I go off air as we leave through the front of the ship aand down the ladder. I get to the truck and bend have John take out my air bottle and I do the same for him before changing the bottles.

'Alright guys I'm good.'

*I follow everyone else as we walk back towards the ladder and climb up the rungs. I get to the top and walk over to the stand pipe and back to room 214 where our hose is waiting.

( Who knows where the truck is.....Shame. )

* I take the door and a large flame leaps out of the room and starts to run the ceiling into the Hallway. *

' S--T,'

" Pump-11 Command to Any units available Priority Traffic...2nd Floor Starboard side near Rooms 203 through 211, Heavy fire is running the ceiling, We have No lines on this side of the ship.....Requesting Emergency Suppression to this side, Firefighters and Civilians in jeopardy. "

' Chuck keep the family there DO NOT bring them out yet. '

* Without thinking I rush into the burning room where the Backdraft just happened and Punch a hole into the window to create some form of ventilation. Completly frusterated with the lack of Suppression support I start to mumble to myself as i begin makng my way out of the room and into the burning hallway. *

" copy that floan, colwell and I are on the way from room 219, we're right across the hall, command copy?"

' lets go colwell!!!!'

" jack, start this way as well"

* i grab our hose and start to hustle that way when i find a hole in the floor*

" matthews to all units, be advised of a hole adjacent to room 215"

' watch yourself colwell!!'

* i meet up with floan and crew and begin to open the nozzle and start aiming at the ceiling*

"Copy that Floan!"

'Hey everyone, we need to stay here for just a little while. It's too dangerous and we need hoses over here.'
'Alright, but not too long!'
'Don't worry!'

"Hey Floan, I'll grab that jump bag, too, when I get out."

*I get the line, and Anders gets behind me, and we go over to Floan, and his crew, and start knocking down the fire on the floor, while Matthews works the roof.*

* I see my crew rounding the corner and as they begin to open up on the fire I look over at Davis. *

' Ok Chuck, Florian....Time to be real firemen, they are gonna hit the fire and smoke and steam are gonna get in here REAL DAMN QUICK, give the family your masks I will take the litle girl and give her mine, Hold your breath for as long aspossible and switch off your mask from the family to yourselves. '

* I grab the little girl who is burned but not as bad as I had thought. *

' U ready sweetheart, we'll be out of here in no time jsut hang on to me and close your eyes reeeeeal tight. '

* as Matthews crew opens up on the fire we are immediatly hit with Water, Smoke and choking steam. Matthews gives me a waving signal to go*

' LETS GO NOW!!!!!. '

* I take a huge breath and start making a dash for the door. *

*I put my mask on one of the family members and make a dash for the door. I hold my breath.*

'Guys c'mon, hold your breath and follow me!'

*I run out behind Florian.*

* as floan makes his move i turn my stream away from them, making sure they have a clear path*

* after they make it through i turn back to colwell*

' alright, lets keep nicholas and jack here, and we will continue with 219 and down the hallway, and when they are done here they can continue theres on the other side of the hallway'

"matthews to anders, finish up with what you can here, then continue your search and suppression on your hallway, we'll continue with 219 and down BREAK matthews to floan and command, be advised the center of the fire is in the 210 area of rooms"

'Great Matthews. We can stay here you guys can keep mving.'

* As we make our way off of the boat I take a big breath of semi fresh air and look at the girl who is still closing her eyes so tight she has tears coming out of them. I pull her ear close to me and whisper to her. *

' Take a look around, your safe now. '

* She looks up and around then begine to smile big. I smile back and continue to carry her to the triage area to be treated. *

(I just love not having internet at home. New modem should be here tomorrow! Just cover me while I'm not around. Sorry.)

*I follow Tim back in and help him with the hose*

'Lets get this out!'

I smirk a little when Hannahan shakes his head at me. I feel exactly the same, the funny thing is I have a bottle of oxygen and an ALS bag on my shoulder too. I also think how I can we could get them up even though my body is aching. I take a quick look at my SCBA tank and realize we have to get out pretty soon. "Hannahan, we need to get out pretty soon; I'm nearly out of air. That Jayhawk better be here soon."

* Pump-11 Command tp Squad 1 Davis.....When you and Florian drop off the family meet me at the Pumper, we need to properly gear up for the next round. BREAK Pump-11 Command to Pump-11 Matthews. Thank you for the save back there. I owe you one. "

* I walk over to the Engine and open my side of the door, grab a bottle of water and take a Long refreshing drink. I also pour what is left after im done over my head and sit on the step for a minute waiting for the Squad to come over. *

* as we move to 219 i hear floans transmission*

* i smile while he says it and give a little sattisfied laugh*

" dont worry about it lieu"

* colwell and i knell in front of 219*

' colwell, go ahead and feel it first, then pry, i got the hose'

* cowell feels the door and gives me a thumbs down showing its hot*

'alright, go ahead and pry it then, stay low!'

* he pry the door open after a couple hacks and i open the nozzle on a wide stream as fire rolls across the ceiling*

* i move in as he then backs me up and we aggresively fight the fire*

" matthews to anders or nicholas, status report please"

*I head back over to the pumper after dropping off my patients.*

'Hey Floan, should we refill our bottles and everything?'

*I watch the ladder crew come down the halway led by Bruce. They have two packs and take over suppression on our side.

"Anders to Mattews, we have been relieved on this side by L-1 crew. We are making our way over to assist you."

'Alright Nicholas, lets head to the other side now and help out there'

" uh, copy that jack, go ahead and continue your side, colwell and I are holding our own on 219, we are getting ready to advance to the next room"

* colwell and i finish soaking the room and finding nothing left we go on to the next room*

"Interior Teams, I want reports, what's the status?"

" matthews to copa, pumper 11 currently has 2 crews of 2 inside the boat with heavy fire in the central rooms 210-243"

* colwell and I move onto room 223*

' Yea Chuck, you and Florian both get new bottles and make certain you clean your masks out before you put them on, just to be sure nothing was passed when you shared your masks with the family. '

* I get up, take my tank off, put a new bottle on and throw it over 1 shoulder while I wait for the squad crew to get ready. *

" Pump-11 Command to Pump-11 Matthews, Squad 1 and I are jsut gearing up to go back inside Where do you need us at the most?. "

"I NEED AN INTERIOR UPDATE, AND AN UPDATE WITH YOU HANNAHAN." I say as the chopper swoops around the ship.

" matthews to raven, making progress on the rooms in the mid 200's in the center of the ship, heading towards the heaviest fire BREAK matthews to floan, if you could grab a line or two and help the rest of the pumper crew working these rooms, we are encournting heavy fire heading towards the center of the ship ( epicenter shown on the diagram on the EAT)"

' alright boys, sounds like we will be getting some back up coming, lets push hard!!'

'Alright Nicholas, we have some ground to make up, lets get this room over hauled and keep moving. Do you have you halligan yet?'

*I step of of the hose and walk in the room and cut off my air and open my mask, I look around and see that most of the furniture has been destroyed. I push on the dresser and it collapses into chared peices of wood. I feel the walls that are still standing and only the wall to room 218 is warm.

'Once we are done here, be ready for fire in the next room too. make sure to get the ajoining walls put out before any other walls.'

" matthews to any unit on the ground, can we be sure we have the standpipe connected to the truck to be sure we have water flowing into the boat, also has someone looked at the alarm room to see whats up with the sprinklers?"

* i take my mask off and survey the room*

' alright colwell, looks pretty good here, on to the next one, think you will be sick of fire by the end of this??'

*We head to the next door and I check it and feel heat. I give Tim a thumbs down, and force it open.*

'HIT IT TIM!*

*I direct the gun to the smaller fires and work up to the bigger ones.*

"P-11 Van Der Water to P-11 interior, how's it lookin' in there? do you need some more gun?"

' ill second that colwell, ill take nozzle on this room, then you take a few ok?'

" matthews to floan, status update, olwell and I are currently on room 223, still coming across heavy fire, getting close to the middle of the fire we believe, if you could get your lines up here that'd be great BREAK, disregard floan, if i could actually request you and the squad to take lines to the other side of the epicenter we believe you could begin near the reception area and work your way towards us"

* i open the nozzle on the room and find the fire to be a little less than the other rooms*

* i crawl on my knees as colwell backs me up and we move into the small cabin*

'Same here man.'
"Rescue 1 interior to COPA and Squad 1 Raven, We're on the top deck with the last foot of our high rise packs on the stern of the ship with the crew of the pfd members that called mayday. I see the jayhawk flying around above us so I'm going to turn on my flashlight so you can see us a little better."
*I look at my chest and turn on the flashlight. I then grab my mic again.*
"We're nearly out of air on our packs too so lets get out of here soon."
*I sigh and slow down my breathing so I can conserve air then lean on a rail while waiting for the Hawk to come and pick us up.*
'How ya feelin Mitch?'

*I head back to the squad and grab a new bottle. I wipe out my mask real quick and put it back on. Then I head back over to the pumper.*

'Hey Floan, your guys need more lines. Want me to hook a line up to the squad and bring one inside?'

*Tim and I enter the cabin and are greeted by fire everywhere. As we enter something catches my eye in the bathroom to my right.*

'Hey Tim.'

*I point to a charred up body.*

'Do we leave it, mark the door and continue or take it to triage?'

" Pump-11 Command copies Matthews, We'll attempt to make entry to the other side of the source and work our way through. "

' Nah Chuck jut grab a couple High Rise Packs and lets start our way back in, Here is the list of what we need in there. Each of us needs a forceable entry tool be it an Axe or Halligan, You and Florian need to grab a High Rise Pack Each and I'll take my ALS bag. is there anything on the squad for a BLS Basic jump kit? if so grab it the make certain ur air bottles are good to go. '

" Pump-11 Command to Pump-11 Van Der Water Why dont you kill the Deck gun, suit up, grab a High Rise pack and meet myself and the Squad over at the Pumper we all can go in together. "

(davis, you better have a 1000' line with you if you're taking it off of the truck , take a high rise pack)

* i look where colwell points*

' damn it, i was hopeing we weren't gonna have any victims, hold on'

"matthews to command,floan, and triage, be advised we have found one victim, chared and no chance of life in room 223, will mark door"

' go ahead and mark it when we leave, we're gonna have to leave the body here for now at least'

'Ok Tim. I'm going to mark the door real quick.'

*I take the paint and put a big number 1 on the door and paint a line to the victim.*

'Ok Tim, room is marked.'

'Alright got it Floan.'

*I head back to the squad and look around for a BLS jump bag. I find one and bring it back over to Floan. I also get a Halligan.*

'Here's this, now hold on...'

*I grab myself a highrise pack off the pumper and throw it over my shoulder.*

'Alright, I'm all set. Let's roll!'
