What just grinds your gears in RL

Just got to add to this, my pet hate as a kind of photographer, people who don't understand the law, and know I'm allowed to take photos of them, who get angry, especially idiotic security guards, who I hate for being idiots.

I got into an argument with a person taking pictures of me and my crew while I was at a call. It annoyed me, because I have nothing to hide, but I really don't want to find myself on youtube or something treating a patient. She told me the same thing, that there's no law against it, and that honestly just made me even angrier at her. I tried to work out out, I tried to have her move back if she wants to take pictures, so when she didn't asked her to stop completely. After she mentioned something about the law, I just ignored her. After the patient was loaded and I was getting into the ambulance, I just went to her, and I was like:

"I know there isn't a law about photography. I nicely asked not to have my picture taken, the least you could do as have a little respect and honor my request."

Then I just got in and we left.

I agree McGuire, I think its rude and disrespectful to keep filming someone after they asked you to stop. And Jackson, there are some idiotic security guards out there.

Yeah, and I mean, when a patient is in my care, I am responsible for their safety, health, and privacy. When I have somebody standing over me taking pictures of the scene or patient or whatever then their privacy is being violated, along with mine. I just prefer to not get my picture taken or be video taped while I'm on duty.

I try to be nice, I'll either ask them to back up and take a picture, or just not take a picture. If they refuse or tell me there's no law, that's when I get pissed and argue with them. I mean, at least have some respect. If somebody doesn't want to be videotaped or pictured, then just don't take their picture.

Seriously, I don't know how many times I've yelled at photographers and just bystanders that get too close.

At that point, when someone is interferring with scene safety, I pull the get back or you'll be under arrest for endangerment, right now you're a hazard on this scene, and if you refuse to move back, you'll be breaking the law, not for pictures, but for scene safety. Try me.

Try that next time, it is technically illegal to endanger emergency service personnel, or the life of another, and if they are interferring with your treatment by making you request that they move, then they are guilty of endangerment, and can actually be arrested.

I'm glad I work in rural EMS, only people there is either family or other emergency service employees.

Douchebag riding his bike in the middle of the road, downtown, in traffic in the middle of the freakin' day. Last time I checked, it was illegal and unsafe to do that. I rolled down my window, and made sure to give the guy a piece of my mind.

actually i do believe that your PT could sue the person taking the photo graphs for invastion of privacy, even the news paper cant take pictures of the PTs face its against HIPA violations, just like we cant talk about it people cant take pictures

Yeah, but most patients don't know laws and organizations like that. Where I am, if anything they'd start physically fighting instead of taking legal action, lol.

I have had simillar problems as McGuire had. I am a junior, so I assist w/scene saftey and stuff like that. idiotic people going beyond that yellow tape, ya know? taking pictures and shit? HELLO!?!? it clearly says DO NOT CROSS on it. COME ON people!!! are you blind?! obviously we don't want you somewhere dangerous. then, the SAME people keep doing it over and over again until the police get involved. It's like watching little kids!

At least in my state, its a gross misdomeanor to cross police/fire lines.

If you cross police line, you get charged with interferance of a crime scene, in which could land you a jail sentence if you touched something and messed something up, but at the least, you're getting a criminal record and a big fine. Fire line crossing usually results in being brought to the station in cuffs and receiving a charge of endangerment, which depending on your past and the judge, could land you in jaill, but usually just gets you a fine or some community service. We don't f*ck around.

Well crime scene tape crossing is a HUGE offense here, and you'll get in a lot of trouble, especially if it's like a murder or something, that's a big one here. As for things like fires, again it depends on the fire and the officer around you. Most likely you'll be in trouble, and almost definately in a cop car if you're being an asshole about it

though there is no difference in the tape there is a difference in crossing a police line that is sorta set up for crowd control and one that is taping off a crime scene one is a slap on the wrist and ususally just getting yelled at the other is jail time or fines depending on what type of crime scene it was plus possible additional charges

Fire line is used when it's a fire kinda scene, and police line usually goes up at after fires, accident sites if public property was damaged, and well major crimes. Crossing the latter is a jail sentence, the other two, it's usually just a trip to the station and maybe a fine.

Like most smaller crimes, it depends on your intent and your officer. If you run past a police line into your own house, you'll probably just get grabbed, and get a lecture, or if you're really outta luck, possibly a charge and if you cross the same line to get press photos, you could lose your camera forever, or at least a week, a nice fine and possibly jail time, that one is pretty standard, though depending on the officer's mood you may get a misdemeanor or something.

Personally, the first, I'd give a lecture, the second I'd send to the station for a booking, fine and possible time in jail for touching stuff on a scene. (that's what I'd charge him/her with too, touching on scene stuffs)

I guess you can do that...'Hey bud, what you in for?' 'Oh, just for touchin onscene stuffs.'

I hate Iowa summer weather, tomorrow it is to 100+ degree heat index..... hhmmmm always thought about moving to BC canada or Washington state..... wonder what the weater is like there.....

I live in South Carolina. You think you have it bad? Come down here for a summer. And, it's either extremely hot or extremely cold. We have like 2 weeks of fall and spring.

Canada...cold, Washington...cold and wet. Come to Indiana, we have longer winters, and summers are hot but barely ever that hot. It's supposed to be 100 today, but it's storming.

here in PA we get it all one day we'll get 6 inches the next day it's 80*

I like the variety of Michigan weather. It changes on some days every 20 minutes. Today was sun, rain, pea sized hail, all rotating over an hour and a half. The rain on each rotation varied from a sprinkle to *Our storm drains weren't keeping up with the road water and there was minor flooding*

Newfoundland changes every five minutes some days. Literally.
One day's weather was rain, fog, rain, sun, rain, hail, fog, clear, sun, repeat. Each would last approximately 5-7 minutes. No joke.

Yeah, we've got Southern accents.

Yeah, we do get fog, but not as often as you guys do, being closer to the coast. I wish we did.

Weather yesterday was weird! It was supposed to be 100 out, but it stormed all day and I don't think it got past 85. But in the evening it cleared up, I went to a party, watched some fireworks, and that was it. Now today it was hot, and I went swimming with meh friends.

Those guys from high school that think you're gay for some reason, and turned out gay, and still think you're gay because you go around in a dodge charger equiped to do battle with a state police car (Specifically my sister's), listen to the loudest music this planet has to offer, have a wife, banged every girl on the volleyball team in high school, had multiple girl friends, and say "I'm not gay but I don't hate" so many times. Those people grind my gears. >.>

Long story short a buddy of mine from high school came over, wife answered the door and he was surprised.

Not only that but my neighbors thought I killed myself this morning. I'm listening to this song (I live in a semi german community) And my neighbors see me working on the roof to this song which happens to be one of my favorite, english translation for the ignorant included

So I start acting it out like a dumbass, and they run over screaming at me "Don't do it! Don't do it!" And I was like "Da f*ck?" Then realised what happened. : P whoops

I will learn German soon, but that is just funny, too. I see why everyone was worried. I got my friend to love Rammstein, he just listens to all their songs. We played them on my computer really loud and my brother was so annoyed!

I played it on 4 subwoofers and my home theater ; ) my parents were very generous to me.

Oh, yeah. The feeling is mutual between me and my neighbors. I honestly don't care if they hate me. If they hate me, then they have less of a reason to talk to me. lol

We have this kid next door who stares at us from his bathroom window when we swim, cuz we're the only ones on the block with a pool. One time, he made a sign that said, "Can I come in your pool?" We sprayed it with water guns.

My neighbor on the other side of my house...well they don't keep their house up very well. The backyard is literally a jungle. Luckily, is fenced in so not on our property. The grass in the front is always long, too.
