Rental Accident

* I startle as Stanley comes up and says something I jump a bit but quickly regain my composure. *

' What?....Oh yea..Yea everything is fine. '

* PPD comes walking over to us as well taking Pictures of the scene and of the victim. *

PPD: Ok, i have all the pictures I need here, I'll work with your Collison Investigator for the rest. You guys can remove him now. The Coroner should be here any time now.

Me: Ok thank you we'll take him from here and thank you.

' Hank can you go to the Engine and grab another Yellow Fire Blanket pleae. '

" Pump-11 Command to all Personell on Scene, all units can start packing up at this time. Casey go ahead and Kill the lines and have Brondum assist you in rolling them back into the engine. Jack can you pack our Paramedic gear back up and reload it onto the truck. "

* Hank comes back with a blanket and unfolds it across the pavement. *

' Hank can you help me with him. We need to get him out of the SUV and onto this tarp. I'll get his upper body if you can get his legs and be careful. '

* I walk over to the patient. I take him under both his arms and lit him up and out of the truck with Stanley supporting his legs. We take him and put him on the yellow tarp. The patients eyes are still open so I reach over and close them. I fold the tarp over him and walk back to the Engine. I open my side of the door, take off my coat and put it on the floor I remove my cover, set it on the dash and walk over to Raven who is standing with the PPD officer. *

' Hey Ewan, once we're all packed up we're gonna clear. I'll see u back at the house. '

*I walk over to where the ALS bag and o2 bag is and pick up all the scattered tools. I do a quick invetory and realize we need another bottle of saline and an IV of ringers.

* I pat Raven on the shoulder as I walk away towards the Engine. I stop and Jack tells me that we need a couple med Supplies. *

' Ok we'll make a quick run to ETC. '

" Pump-11 Command to All Pump-11 Members, Load up we're gonna clear. "

* I climb aboard the Engine and close my door. I put on my headset and hang my arm halfway out the window as Casey, Brondum and Anders load up. Casey starts the engine and kills the Lights, he begins to pull away from the scene *

' Casey lets head to ETC please, we gotta resupply. '

" COPA..Pump-11 is clear Available on radio. "

*I climb aboard and roll down my window. I let the afternoon air flow into the truck as we head towards the ETC.

'Damn guys'

I pull up and step out of the car, heading toward the milling group of rescue workers.

"T-1 on scene."

I walk over to Raven. 'Captain, where can you use the help right now? I don't want to be in the way while you guys are working, but there's no point in me standing around idly.'

"COPA do you need me to respond?"

"T-1, CI. Please respond to scene for investigation."

* I walk back to the CRU and throw my gear in the seat. I walk up to Cpt. Raven. *

' Hey boss are we done here? can we clear the scene. '

"CI 1 show me responding"

*I arrive on scene and see Morrigan*

'Hey Morrigan, Whats up? can you give me a rundown?'

'Hey Russo.'

I point over to the car. 'Basically, what you see. RP said the tires were still going. So maybe the brakes failed, transmission issue, or something else. I'll run the plates too, see where exactly this came from. I don't think... Let me check on the patients. I don't think they've been interviewed.'

"Traffic command to Rental accident OIC or senior medic on scene. requesting location and status of patients involved in the crash for statements."

* I overhear the cops talking about the scene and hear one of them talk about interviewing the patients. I walk up to them to give them an update. *

' Well guys, 1 patient is under that tarp over thre, D.O.A and the other, the passenger is at the Hospital with minor to moderate injuries. '

* I head back to the CRU and ge tin the Drivers side. *

'All right, thanks for that. I'll look into the reports for names.'

I walk over to the vehicle and start peeking around. It's hard to see after all it's been through.
I lean in and pump the brakes. The pedal drops to the floor. I go back to the car to grab a tarp and slide under the car. 'Hmm. Interesting,' I say to myself, seeing a gash in a brake line.

"COPA, 1152. Holding for Investigator, but this looks open and shut here."

'Thanks Morrigan and Stanley'
*I take pictures and notes of the body,and the car. I realize that theres nothing else i can do without putting the car on a lift*
"COPA when its safe im going to need someone to tow this back to the compound so i can get it on a lift. Show me going to the hospital"

I head back to my car.

"T1 Clear and resuming patrol. Available for calls.

( Guys I dont know what to do since nobody from my unit so im gonna take us back to the station. if you need to bring us back then just let me know and i'll delete my post. )

* I climb into hte drivers seat and as the Cpt. gets in I start the truck and drive back to the fire station. *

" CRU is clear of scene and returning to station. "

*I arrive at the hospital and talk to the receptionist*
'Hi Im Officer Russo with the ERT Police can you give me the room number for the accident victim that was brought in'
*She gives me the room number*
'Thank you'
*I walk up to the room and approach the victim*
Me: 'Hi im Officer Russo with the ERT PD and im the officer investigating the accident i need to ask you a few questions'
Vic: 'ok'
Me: 'How long ago did you rent the car?'
Vic: 'We only had it for an hour'
Me: 'Did you notice the the car driving strangely'
Vic: 'I wasn't driving but the car was stopping funny'
Me: 'What kind of car did you rent'
Vic: 'A Malibu'
Me: 'That covers it for now. If i need to ask more questions can i call you?'
Vic: 'sure'
*I get the contact info from the vic and leave*
