Arson Fire

As Cory comes out from the darkness, I get the first look at the baby that is injured. "Cory, lets get her some oxygen. What Do you think?" I say coming out of the building with Cory and entering the RA.

'Exactly what I was thinking, also help Matthews get Botfish in the truck. We'll expose him in the truck, but he seems to be coming around now that we have some air going through his mask.'

* I hoist up austin and mitch and jack and i carry the stokes over to the ladder and slowly lower him down and then the three of us carry him over to the RA*
* i pat austin on his head as i put him in the ambulance*
' you're gonna be fine man, get well soon' i say as the rear doors close*

"Alright, you get the oxygen for the girl and I will help Matthews with Botfish." I jump out of the RA and see Matthews with Botfish. I walk up to then and we start rolling the stretcher to the RA. 'Get a little beat up there Botfish." I say with a chuckle. I open the rear doors of the RA and slide the stretcher in making sure it locks in place. I get in and ask Cory: "What would you like me to do to Botfish?"

*I head over to the RA*
'Hey you guys good to know or do you need someone else to ride in the back or I can drive to'

*I hear door slams and wake up. Still feeling diizy*
'My arm! It kills!'
*I look around*
'Where am... I?'

*I hear Botfish, as Im turning to Mitch.*
'Go ahead and get him out of his gear, go down to his undies. Get him on 15L NRB and get an IV on him. Also do a full assessment on him. I'm getting an IV on the girl, just in case I find anything. Oh and Moon, stand by we may need a driver, I need to see what we find. Also we can't leave till I talk to McEvoy and the Medic gets here.'

*I break the Q, turn off the siren, and pull up on scene. I park right by the ladder and get out.*

"Squad 1 onscene. Building looks to unstable for SAR, so should we assist with exterior supression?"

"Rodger Cory." I grab my medic scissor and put then near the stretcher, The I pull off his turnout jacket and his turnout pants. I then grab my scissors and cut his shirt and pants off. I then get him on a 15L NRB and get the equipment to put in a I.V. "Alright Botfish, This might hurt a little but you are a big boy." I say with a chuckle. I put the blood pressure cuff on and inflate it to 160mm/Hg. I find the best vein and insert the catheter into the vein, I move it up until I see blood. I pull the needle out and put it in the "Sharps container". I then tape it and start my assessment.

*I hear Botfish recoil in pain.*
'What did you get in over there?'
*I turn back to the girl in front of me, other than being really shaken up she looks fine, but I start an IV bolus, at 10 ml/kg and up her O2 to 4 lpm. Her pluse, B/P and respirations are good, but her SpO2 is low, about 80%.*
'Alright Mitch I got her taken care off, but her Sats are low.'

*I hear Burke ask for a medic unit and head out to the unit. I pick up the mic.*

"M5 responding to the arson code 3."

*I pull out of the complex, sirens wailing.*

*I pull up on scene and head over to the RA.*

"Daniels, Hutchison, what do you need me to do?"

'You guys are our releif we have 2 to transport, you'll be covering rehab while we're gone.'

*I throw on my SCBA gear on mask, turn it on, and pull a crosslay. I turn on the pump, charge the line, and spray into a window on the 1st floor where fire is spewing out.*

"COAP to IC, when you get a chance can you do a par check when units are out of the structure?"

(I finally figured out what a par check is, lol)

* I look around and see my team has completly dispersed and has gone every which way but the right way. *

" Pump-11 command to ALL Pump-11 personel Lets rally back at the truck now. "

"Ladder 1 command to crew, we're doing exterior attack only. I repeat, nobody goes inside of that building."
*I sweep the fifth floor and watch as the black smoke plumes out of the roof and I look over at the PFD trucks.*
"Ladder 1 command to DCF1, is it possible to call in mutual aid from TVFD?"

"RA1 has Par +1"

*I copy Floans message and head for the truck.*

(Sorry I've been in class for the past 3 hrs.)

'Gotta go get yelled at cory gotta find another driver'
*I walk back over to the pumper*

* after bringing austin over to the ambo i turn my air off and take my mask off and leave it dangling*
* i head over to the pumper and sit on the bumper and leave my TNT tool laying on the ground*

*I walk over to the rescue*

'what's up guys?'

*I hear them asking over the radio.*

"IC to P11, are all your guys out of the building?"

*I look back up to hutch as I wait for a response from the pumper.*

I climb out of the Squad, checking all my gear as I do and head over to the Pump panel, to check everything's working as I wait for further orders and prepare to do whatever.

'Hey chief, you might want to have PPD or ERT:PD meet us at the ETC, I think this girl was left alone while parents went who knows where. Didn't want that going over the air.'
*I turn back to Botfish and check his lower extremities.*
'Mitch what did you get for vitals, Im not seeing anything down here but he's complaining that his arm hurts.'

'I can't... move it!'
*I say in pain*

'okay hutch, I'll call up ppd see if they have a unit available, if not I'll see if the So has a unit available. They will start cps anyway to the hospital. I'll be right back and let you know.'

*I walk away for a second and get my phone out and call PPD to see if they have an available unit to meet the RA at the hospital. I finish up my call and walk back over to hutch.*

'PPD will have a unit over there in about 15-20, they have also started cps. They are gonna wanna get statements from you where she was found.'

*i take off my SCBA and set my axe down and sit down on the cab step*
'Man tim look at that thing go.'

' your telling me moon, wish we could start putting some water on it'
* I un buckle my jacket and open it up to let some air in*

*I nod to McEvoy and turn to Botfish.*
'Ok where on your arm does it hurt?'
*I start at the hand and start feeling up waiting for him to tell me where it hurts.*

'ow, right there'
*I say as he touches in between my elbow and shoulder*

"IC to COPA, we have commenced a complete exterior attack with PFD. All units are out of the building, We have zero percent contained. Can you start a 4th alarm response?"

"Ladder 1 command to DCF1, exterior attack is going well on the fifth floor but the building doesn't look too salvageable. BREAK Ladder 1 command to exposure team, hows it looking down there?"
*I spray through the windows breaking ones that haven't been broken or melted by the fire already.*
(Why isn't most of my crew never here?!)

*I walk back to my truck as I hear ladder 1 calling me*

"IC copies Ladder 1."

*I write down the current status of the fire.*

*I sit and watch from my seat on the step as the fire burns I hear the call out for 4th alarm and think to myself hmm if only we could put some water on it instead of standing around talking I undo my coat to let some air in and to cool down a bit*

' Ok Matthews, and jack, Grab a 2" line and start Exterior operations, Moon, colwell. do the same thing, lets hit it from outside. Van Der water, your on Deck gun still, attack wherever u see flames. '

* I take my SCBA off and sit on the bumper of the Engine and drink some water. *

' Oh and btw nobody get seperated from this crew again unless you say where ur going and make sure we have cover for u, I didnt appreciate being left in there alone with the Probie 5 floors up, Not cool at all. We'll all talk when this call is over. '

'Yeah yeah'
*I mumble as I walk back over to the line I twist it up and take a knee on it and start pumping water into the building.*

'Here probie take the front on this one I'll back you up'

'OK Moon'
*I take the nozzle and start spraying water into the building.*

* I walk over to Hannahan, and see thr frusteration on his face and he see's mine ( As im not trying to mask it. ) I pout my hand on his shoulder. *

' this sucks, No interior operations and a fireman down, what else could happen now lol. '

*I walk over to Floan and Hannahan. As i hear Floan.*

"Well the building can collapse on us, less then likely to happen."

* I see McEvoy come up and shake his hand. *

' Yea true i guess lol but it still doesnt make it any easier. I love internal operations rather than sit out here and babysit the outside air lolol. '

* I look over at my guys who are doing a good job spraying the outside of the building down. *

' Oh btw are we gonna get rehab going here, we have been inside and i think they all can use some water. '

( Only if its protruding lolol. Maybe a rotator cuff as well, dislocated shoulder. etc etc. )

'I didn't feel anything, but its possible, splint it. I'll drive and call it in. Let me know when you're ready to go.'
*I hop out of the back, get out of my HRES gear and stow it in the rear driver's compartment. I hop up into the driver's seat and grab the radio.*

*I look at Floan with a disturbed look on my face. I try to liven up the mood a bit though.*
'Don't jinx us man. heh. Have fun in rehab.'
*I look down the road to see some extra PFD trucks coming down.*
'Cavalry's here.'
*I move the ladder back up to the roof and extend it as high as it can and spray the deck gun right into the middle of the inferno but I must use caution due to the ladder being in the midst of the other ladders. I must use caution as to not let the heat break the ladder. I see my air is almost gone and I get off of the truck with the deck gun still running and I go over to M-5. I take my mask off as well as the air pack and I feel the heat hit my face too. I sigh as I look over at the SEV and think about what I had done wrong. I hold my head in desperation and sit on the curb of the sidewalk losing my thirst for water. I want to go back but my body and my conscious wouldn't let me. I go over to M-5 and give a forced fake smile to Angus.*
'Hey buddy, how ya been? Can I go back?'

*I grab the mic.*
"RA1 to COPA, we have 2 on board, 1 FF and 1 Civ. Transporting to ETC, one possible humerus fracture, one smoke inhalation."
*I start the truck and pull away from the scene heading for the ETC.*

*I walk over to Hannahan*
'Well this officially sucks'
(My brothers computer is finally fixed so me and him will be more active now lol. Dont have to share computer for homework and crap anymore)

*I look up at Jessica.*
'I guess. You here for rehab? After your done, I want you to cover the deck gun for me.'
*I finish at rehab and get a bottle of water. After drinking some, I look around and then at the building. I put my mask on and grab a line and drag it out. I then start spraying through the front door just tp help out with fire suppression on the lower part of the building. I then grab my mic.*
"Ladder 1 command to crew, give me a sitrep."

*I keep spraying water into the 1st floor window as the fire doesn't push back. I reach for my radio.*
"Hey, Hannahan, can you tell some of the PFD guys to take the first floor with me?"
*I keep spraying as the fire keeps spewing out of the window.*

'I'll be back Angus.'
"Ladder 1 command to Squad 1 Davis, Uhhhh, I'm out of commission right now. I can't do that anyway. Ask DCF1."
