FS2 Fire & Protests

((wow, we are finished already?))

'I'm ready Davis!'

*I look around whilst being checked out and I see everyone putting things back. I figure that maybe COPA didn't receive my last radio transmission so I try it again. I slolwy take the mic off of my shoulder, put it in front of my face, press the PTT button and wait a second.*
"COPA, S1Charlie do you copy that last transmission?"
*I put the radio in my lap waiting for them to acknowledge my last transmission.*

*I hear them trying to reach COPA again and think to myself hmm did they just leave?*

(and yeah jansen since we screwed the hell out of the beginning burke sorta just wanted it to wrap up cause this call was suppose to be a lot deeper but we messed it up hard.)

"S1C copies. All units will be clearing shortly. RA1 and P11 may return to station. BREAK. S1C turning the scene over to L1, Squad 1 and Ladder 1 will becoming available shortly."

* I shut my drivers door shut of my code 2's and start to drive home*

"Rodger Chief"
*I shut my door and kick off the parking break. I bring it up to road speed and shut the lights off and drive it back to the station.*
"P-11 clear from scene"

"10-4 S1C, Ladder 1 taking command. Uhh, once again, we should be back in service in 5 minutes. COPA, the report will be sent via EAT shortly also."
*I watch McEvoy leave in his truck and I walk over to the ladder after being checked out and start on the report. I look over in the middle of my report and see the TFD AI pulling up and I wave to him with a quick hand gesture.*

Fire: Ladder 1, Pumper 11, Squad 1, Station 1 Chief
Police: ERTPD N/A on number of officers
EMS: RA-1
Other: N/A
Comments: Fire units staged back about 2 blocks while PD cleared protesters. Fire units were then cleared by PD to move in and the fire was quickly knocked down. Overhaul was started and P-11, RA-1, and S1C cleared soon after. TFD sent an Arson investigator and the scene was given to him.

*I send the report and Jennifer transmits back to us.*
Jennifer: "Report received over EAT Ladder 1. Are you finished with overhaul?"
"10-4, we are."
Jennifer: "All units clear then."
"Ladder 1 and Squad 1 returning to station, mark us in service copy?"
Jennifer: "Copy. Ladder 1 and Squad 1 in service."
'Alright guys, lets go.'
*I get into my seat, put my seatbelt on, but keep my door open and sit back with my jacket still on smelling a bit like burning wood.*
'Bruce, we need some groceries so drive us over to the store really quick.'

*I stand by the barricade tapes watching the last of the spectators that where gathered across the street disperse and leave the scene when I see the arson investigator arrive at the scene. I decide that my job is pretty much done here and to leave the scene to corporal Linda's command. I get in my patrol car, fire up the engine and grab the radio mic:*

"Dispatch, PC-7 clearing from fire scene, returning to HQ, over."

*I sit idle in my seat and wait for my message to be acknowledged.*

*I step into the rear of RA-1, put away the jumpbag and EKG, and push the water bottles behind the console. As I step out, I shut off the lights on the interior, then step out, and walk to the drivers seat*

*I step in, shut off the lights, put the keys in. Turn off the anti-theft, put it in drive, and drive onto the road.*

"Rescue 1 is clear."

*I drive back to the station*

*We drive off and head to the grocery store. I turn off the lights using the switch above me and sit back listening to the ERT radio.*

I stand back from the line of protestors and climb back in my car, watching the rest of the units leave, I grab my radio and depress the transmit button. "PC-2 leaving scene." I shift the car into gear and start to drive off, cursing myself for my stupidity.

"PC-8 show me clear"

I hop in the squad and shut off the lights

"Squad 1 to COPA, available for calls"

I drive the squad back to the station

*I see that most units have cleared the scene and decide to leave. I have something to attend at the HQ... I put my Charger in gear and roll out towards the HQ.
After a quick drive I arrive at the HQ and park PC-7 in it's spot. I make sure I've got all my stuff with me and just sit for a little while, take deep breath and let it out. It's probably the last time in a while I'll be sitting in this particular car, so I take the time to reminiscate a little about all the things I've experience with it since I joined the ERT. I finally exit the car, lock the doors, and give it a gentle pat on the roof.*

'So long partner, thanks for the ride!'

*I go inside the HQ and turn in my firearm, radio and carkeys to the desk sergeant. He gives me a smile and a nod, probably aware that I'm tranferring to another unit. I then go into the wardrobe and find a new uniform in my locker; the negotiator outfit. I quickly change into it, it's all fresh and nice. I take a quick look in the mirror to fix my hair a bit and look at the new TAC patch, then I walk out and go to the press room for the imminent conference.*

**I am already at headquarters, so I just leave the RRT truck and head over to the training grounds.**
