Third Alarm Warehouse Fire

* I begin to back away out of the building, holding onto Hannahan's heel and watching the ceiling, Water is pouring down on all of us from the deck gun and exterior suppression activity. *

' Hey LT they better move the lines away from our position, we dont need any extra pressure and weight on an already unstable roof. '

* We begin to pick up our pace to get out of the building. *

"Exterior attack to interior attack, are you guys all right in there?"
'I have a bad feeling about this'
*I back up about 50 feet just to be safe*

"We're coming out."
*I get out with Tufts and stand up.*
'This building is done. Can't save it. There's nothing to save really.'
"Ladder 1 personnel, report to rehab."
*I start my way to PEMS so RA-1 could be open to the others.*
"Ladder 1 to COPA, roof collapse resulting in 1 FF to Kitson ER. All L-1 units continuing to rehab. This building is lost."

"RA-1 to ladder 1, we have Moon in the back of our truck, we're going to run him up to the ED."
(sorry for the short post.)

*I shut off my water and back away leaving the hose right were it is*
'Couldn't save this one... Shoot!'
"Botfish to COPA, I have finished spraying, building is done for. Should we start packing up?"

"If the Scene officer gives clear, you guys pack up and prepare to go home, the PFD commander is ordering a demolition team to pull the building down now"
"RA-1 if you haven't already left, bring him to our trauma centre please, if you have, I'll get a transfer once he's cleared"

'Hey guys.
Hey, alright. your BP is 102/74. Eyes are PEARL, skin lookin' good, It's alright but you'll be ok.
'Ok.'
*The guy auscultates my lungs and says its alright.*
It's alright but you'll be ok. Just slow down with what you're doing. Here drink some water. How are you feeling?

*I walk back over to the ladder, put the k12 back, and inform Tim to start packing up.*
'Tim, lets pack this up. Leave a line out though.'
"Ladder 1 to LFO, do you want us to pack up or stay?"

' Ladder 1 Floan to Ladder 1 Command are all personell from all trucks Accounted for? '

* I begin to take off my SCBA, and turnout coat and put it back on the truck. * Looking over at Hannahan. *

' I hope everybody is out of there '

"SEV-2 to P-11, do you want me to disconect your line?"
"SEV-2 to LFO, should we start packing up?"
*I get out the hydrant wrench and get it ready to the shut off hydrant*

"RA-1 to COPA we're getting an IV, then we'll be en route to ERT:ETC."
*I start looking on Moon's arm and find a sutible vein. I put a 14 ga. IV in the L AC. I check vitals, pluse 140, resp. 24, B/P 90/60. I open up the IV .9 NS to Wide open, and bolus 500 ml.*
'Moon, Can you hear me? Doug, lets go code 3 to ERT:ETC'

*I can tell I'm not where I was theres less pain now and it's alot brighter. I can hear someone talking and I think I am takling back but my ears are still ringing from the explosion I can't tell what they are saying or what I am saying.*

*I see him trying to speak but I can tell he's not strong enough to talk. I reach over and grab the MS. I give 4 mg. of MS IV. I feel the truck start movving and hear Doug turn on the siren.*
"RA-1 to ETC"

"Copy that, I'll have a team waiting at the doors"

"Ladder 1 beginning overhaul."
*I grab my clipboard from the dash, grab the k12 with one hand and set it inside of its open cabbinet. I start to go through all of the compartments one by one to make sure I don't miss anything.*

"Copy that"
I check the scene cameras and see the trucks brought in to knock down the remaining walls, and switch to thermal cameras to see only a few hotspots remaining from the building. Nothing PFD can't handle, so I message the commander, let him know we're gonna start packing up and head home.
I think it's a shame though that we had an injured man in the line of duty. That's two people recently, one in line, and one out of line injured. I make a note to check with Cressler's doctor to see what his injuries are, expecting a possible break, some inhaltion, maybe a few bruised ribs, but nothing major. I'll mark him inactive on my rosters now, and hopefully we'll get him back on some kinda duty while he's injured, even if it's just academic duty at the Training Academy building up some certs

*take off my pack and place in the truck. walk around to the drivers seat and lay my helmet on the dash board and throw my jacket up on the seat. climb into the drivers seat and check my phone. jump back out and go get a drink of water*

*I roll up my hose and set it back in the SEV leaving the hydrant on for the Ladder*
*I take off my coat*
'wooh, that feels good'
"SEV-2 to L-1, let me know when your done in there so I can turn off the Hydrant"
*I open the door and sit in the drivers seat looking at the building*

*I walk over to the ladders bumper and sit down on it and sigh and rake my helmet off and change my bottle and put the pack back and take my bunker coat off*

*I look at my left arm noticing a small cut on my left shoulder from when I was digging through the collapsed building. I grab a water bottle and pour some water on it then dry it and walk over to Bruce*

'Bruce can you do me a favor and check that for me I can't see it completely'

*I point to the cut on my left upper arm*

'yeah no problem. did it rip through your jacket?'
*i walk over and get the medical bag out of the ladder and go back over to Jess. i reach in the bag and get some 4x4s tape and disanfectant.*
'alright this is gunna sting a bit'
*i pour the disinfectant on her wound and grab a 4x4 and dab it dry then get a fresh one fold it up and tape it down*
'alright youll be ok but you need to put a clean dressing on this every day'

( once again, im sorry guys that ive been inactive, 3 good fires in 3 days)

* I climb down the ladder and throw my helemt and turnout jacket in the truck*
" Lt, im gonna start breaking down our length from the pumper"
* I lossen the cupplings and start walking out the line*

*I double check my jacket*

'No rip just a cut'

'your going to need to get a new one then can have you wearing a jacket with a hole in it haha. you did good on this one'
*i walk over to the pump pannel and start idleing stuff down.*

'great less than 5 calls and already switching coats. I'm gonna triple check that just incase I was seeing things haha'

*I triple check the jacket finding nothing*

'Well I don't see or feel anything now might have just been a shadow'

"How's it going on those hotspots?"
*I walk over and see the Ladder crew undoing thier hoses*
*I stand next to the pumper to get ready to disconnect*

"Botfish, you could go ahead and disconnect."
*I finish my compartment check, grab a bottle of water, open the cap and drink it down. I let out a great big 'AAAAHHH. Oh yeah thats good.' I put it in my seat and grab another spanner wrench and start on the couplings getting the last coupling for myself since everyone else was doing it while I was going over the truck. After draining the crosslay, I take the high rise packs, velcro it back up, and put one on both shoulders the best that I could and put it in the rear compartment..... I come up with a training idea for later and write it down. I then close the compartment with a thud, look over my shoulder, turn around, and make my way to the ladder. I bring it down on sit it on top of the truck. I lock it in place then check the lights. I see one rear light blinking slowly than it should be and make a note of it on my clipboard.*
'That shouldn't be too bad. Probably needs charging.' I think to myself. I then go back to the front of the truck and look around at the crews doing things.*
'Typical fire scene.' A smile comes to my face.*
*I take my SCBA, mask, and jacket off after PFD knocks the warehouse down. I then see them rolling in to take care of the hotspots. I then look around to see my crew doing things.*
'Alright everyone, how we doin here? Almost donne guys?'

"Once everyone is clear, return to station, we'll be going straight to off time so this shift can visit Cressler if he's open for visiting. He'll be in the ERT Hospital"

(Crap, missed just about everything. Burke, I'll PM you regarding my absence)

*I roll the stretcher back into the ambulance, then get into the drivers seat. As I pull out of the emergency room, I approach the exit gate, press the 'Master' button, and all of the lights come on. After a few bursts of the siren with the 'Manual' button, there is a clearing of traffic in one lane, and a stop in the other, I pull out and return to the scene.*

"RA-1 to fireground, we're returning to the scene. Can you give us a quick situation update."

*I grab my jacket and helmet and put them on my seat and grab another water bottle and start drinking it*

(WoW its only cuz she thought that up Burke =^p)

*watches the building burn. I watch back to the ladder throw off my scba, my jacket, and my helmet on my seat in the rig. I turn around walk over to Jess and Bruce.*

"How you guys doing?"

'im doing great'
*i walk over climb up in the drivers seat of the ladder and wait for everyone else*

'I'm doing okay. How about you?'

*I take another sip of the water*

"When you guys get back, can I see both Beard and McEvoy in my office, I need to discuss some administrative things"

"Yessir"

'Lets roll.'
*I sit in my truck, close the door, and put my seatbelt on. I sit back popping my SCBA back in place on my seat.*
'Nice fire eh...except for Moon...'

*i put the ladder in drive. honking the air horn as we pull out i shut down the emergency lights and make the drive back to HQ*

(lol. I'm just messin with y'all. More of Burke tho =^D )

"Okay, tired and a new baby crying all the time didn't do me in so well for this hard work of a fire."

*Oh shit! What did I do....*

*hops in the back of the ladder and throws the stuff off my seat and sits down*

"Bruce I'm blaming you."

*starts to fall asleep in the back of the rig*

"All units clear form scene when packed up, see emails for call report"

*I finish the water and smirk as I climb into the ladder*

'Well then I blame you for Bruce haha'

*Hearing the units clear, I turn off the siren, and press the master button to turn the lights off.*

"RA-1 returning to the complex."

*I turn up a side street, make a "Square" shape and go back on the opposite direction of the road I was originally on, and return to the complex.*

* I climb into my seat and take off my coat, put my seatbelt and Headset on and relax for the drive home *

' Good job guys, good fightin fire with u guys '

*I take the wrench and shut off the water flow then unhook the hose and finally put the cap back on*
*I walk over to the Pumper and take the hose off and rool it up then put it away*
*Then I sit in the drivers seat and turn off the lights and head back*
