As I pull up into the town of Trulit, I can see the red lights already flashing from where I'm to. I notice a few ERT vehicles already on scene. Probably straight from complex I say to myself. A TSD Deputy moves to the side of my car.
    'Evening, what's the situation?'
'Hostage crisis, already one injured, SOPs say for TAC to get him out and you guys treat over somewhere safer.. You're first EMS on scene, I'd say set up a block out. I'll let my boys know'
'Thanks Deputy' I say with a nod

I pull in, find a spot to the edge of the lot, and slide my light switch to lower power, leaving just the corner of the bar, and a surrounding lights on. I get out and establish a command post. Once I have the area clearly denoted by pylons, lights and my scene lights, I pull on the Incident Commander vest over my jacket and wait for backup.

I hop in the ambulance and turn on the lights and turn on the siren. "ALS 1 enroute to the scene" "Do we have a status on the victim?" I say to Burke through the radio.

I get the page over my beeper and I quickly turn on my lights and sirens and head to the bank.
"UMC-1 is en route code 3"
I hit a little bit of traffic along the way but they respectfully pull over to the side and let me pass. It begins to rain and I think to myself well this is not going to be good.

    "EMS-1 received, Trulit Bank."

*I shut off the TV, then stand up out of the swivel chair. I walk out the door into the bays, as I walk around the front of BLS-1 I press the button to open the bay door. I step in, open up the EAT, and sign in. I start the engine once everybody is inside, and I pull out onto the apron. I push the button on the remote garage door opener, and it closes. I stop at the driveway to the ERT complex.*

'Cole, start the chart. Starting mileage is 157.'

*I push the red 'Master' button on the console, and all of the lights go on over the course of a few seconds. I start flipping between sirens, and when the few cars stop, I pull out. Somebody cuts out in front of the ambulnace from a driveway, but a few second long blast of the air horn moves him over Wink *

"TAC will be en route. Would you like us to determine a negotiator?"

**I ask Bridwell to turn the RRT around. I need to put aside any feelings I have about the previous mission. I just don't want someone else to die.**

    * Again the beeper calls me, this time I'm suturing a cut under the supervision of on of the trauma nurses. This time it's it's an emergency. I run through the ER, and out of the hospital, just in time to see the back of BLS- and ALS-1 as they pull out. I jump in the EDRC, hit the lights and sirens and pull out, playing catch up with the two ambulances.

*I walk into the station locker room to begin my shift. I've been home since last night, resting and recovering after prolonged service due to the drug raid. I got the word of the bank hostage situation briefly from the desk sergeant, and I'm putting on my uniform hurriedly. I finish buttoning my shirt over my ballistic vest before I pull my sweater over my head and down. I put on my equipment belt as I walk over to the equipment desk and sign out my service weapon, a radio and the keys to PC-7.
I fiddle with the radio as I walk outside towards the parking lot, turning it on and making sure it's set to the work channel. I put the radio in it's holder on my belt, and stretch the extension mic around back and over my shoulder, clipping it to my right shoulder flap.
I approach my car, it's just back from TEC having gotten the snow tires fitted and the routine inspection done. I press the unlock button on my key and the doorlocks snap open. I open the driver door and slide into the cool car, adjusting the drivers seat before starting the engine. I take a minute to organize myself and make sure I have everything I need before I grab the radio mic from the dash. Intent on seeing if I am needed either at the bank or elsewhere, I speak:

"Dispatch, this is PC-7 entering service. What do you have for me, over?"

*I turn on my lights and sirens and floor the gas. My Charger roars into high rev and accelerates down Trulit Interpass. I use the manual switch on my siren control through the stoplights, wailing and blaring the airhorn to clear traffic.*
