Ander's House Fire

*Hearing that it was just my AC duct, Tim and I contine to stay inside and douse the flames with water. I can see the flames keep falling and feel the heat decreasing. I check my air and my air alarm sounds.

'Tim I am low air and need to go, you ready too?'

((Tim and Floan can godmod me for the weekend.... gone fishing!))

' Yea i gotta go too, my air is just about there, lets bring this line out and set it near the door'
*We back out of the house and leave the line near the door, outside, and head over to the trucks*
*I take my bottle off and replace it and head to re-hab*
" matthews and anders out of the structure, in rehab"

Apraching the last door I open it and get bowled over by two dogs. "Raven to command I have the dogs. Any search ops go to extinguishing." I say and bring the dogs outside, then tie them to S1C's car.

(They were already out)
*I spray the walls*
"HRES Botfish status update, The ceiling is out the walls are the only thing left"

"Got it Raven, I'm gonna go outside and get a line. Be back in a bit."

*I head outside through the smoke. I go to the squad, grab a crosslay, and hook it up. Then I change my air tank to a full one and pull my line back towards the house.*

I hook a crosslay up and head downstairs to fight the fire. As I come down I see all the smoke and the flame, I turn on the line and spray all the fames.

"How's it looking down there Mitch."
*I turn on my flashlight and head inside. I then look around.*
'Woah, smoky. I guess I should help him vacuum when this is done haha.'

*I head downstairs and head into the smoke-filled basement. I approach the attack crew.*

'Hey guys, any spot you need me to get?'

'Hit the walls, they are the only thing left'
*I start spraying the walls*

(Sorry guys had to pull a 16 hr. shift in Louisville last night, just got back.)
*I take everyone's vitals and then start handing out waters and gatorades.*
'Everyone needs to rest about an hour then you can go back in for the overhauling.'
*i grab a water and sit in the back of the truck.*

' ugh really cory, fine whatever'
* i say kinda mad i cant go back in*

*check around with my TIC and face my TIC on the ground which is showing just a bit more heat the usual.*
"Interior, I'm picking up some heat between the floor and basement ceiling. Remember to check that."
*I continue my search through the lightly smoky hallway to the bedroom.*
'Nice house.'
"Rescue 1 command to DFC1, we have light smoke showing on the first floor with minimal heat coming from between the floor and basement ceiling. Nothing further." (I'm just giving a heads up. Don't let this become a fully involved fire guys)

"10-4 recieved"
*I take my hose and fog the cieling until I think it's good*
"You can go ahead and check it again"

*I check the same spot I was at before.*
"Heat is gone. Good job."

( Sorry guys we had a real bad RL call, my crew has been ordered to take a couple days off and rest, my wife is taking advantage of that to take me away for a couple days. Matthews you go ahead and take over until probably tuesday when i come back. again sorry guys but right now i cant go into too many details other than we need the break. )

*Cory gives me the ok and i clear out of rehab with jack*
* I suit back up and put my scba on*
"Matthews and anders to command, we have 2 firefighters clear from re-hab, where and what would you like from us?"

"COPA - Please report status of fire"

"DCF1, just have the two go grab the fans off the ladder and start venting out the first floor, if not already done so?"

"DCF1 to COPA, Fire is nearly contained will start overhaul shortly."

*I hear the radio and grab a power cord and the fan and start walking towards the house. I put it at the entrance to the door and turn it on.*

( i think that was for me and anders, jack, but o well)
" ok chief"
' lets go do some venting jack'
* I walk up to the ladder and grab another fan as i see lueckenbach has already grabbed one and we bring it bast the first one, further into the house and turn it on*
" chief, we go the first floor venting now, were gonna pop some windows up"

*I hit the rest of the flames down then shut off my hose*
"HRES Botfish, the fire is out. Can I get a TIC down here to check over it?"

" anders and matthews got the tic, we'll be right down austin"
* i walk up and open the officers door and climb up and grab the tic off of the dash and close the door*
* We walk into the house and i put my mask on just in case*
' here ya go austin, when your done just leave it on the bumper of 11'

'K thanks'
*I take the TIC and search for the hotspots and find 1 in the ceiling and 2 in the wall. I spray the spots then head outside and set it on the bumper of P-11*
'There you go!'

*I walk into the upstairs and start opening up the windows (not smashing)*
"Ladder 1 crew go head an open up the window on the second floor. DO NOT SMASH THEM"

* I take the tic and strap it to my airpack and save it in case i need it later*
* I disconnect the hoseline that ander and i used and tart to walk it out*
' mind helping me pack this back up jack?'

'Looks like we're pretty much done here guys.'

"Davis to COPA, search is complete and we're gonna start rapping up here."

*I walk out of the house with my hose. Then I take off my SCBA, disconnech my hose, roll it off, and turn off the pump. I head over to the cab, put my jacket on the seat, and pace around the truck.*

"Hey Raven, should we disconnect from the pumper?"

*i finish up inside and come out and take off my BA and get a drink of water*
"Ladder 1 crew once your finished head to Rehab"

((single story house ))

'Sure Tim.'

*I pick up the hose behind Tim and lug it to the pump. I climb up top and start to fold the hose back onto the truck.

"Units clear when scene is safe, Anders, if you don't have a place to stay, report to my office, we'll sort something out. If you do, I'll see you in the morning, in my office"

(Pack up and go home now... Except jack, since he is home... well old home. I'm probably going to start hutchison's call soon )

*I finish packing the hose and I hope off the truck.

'That didn't take to long'

I do a quick 360 on the truck checking off equipment when I realize we are missing the TIC. I walk over to Tim.

'Do you know where the TIC is?'

'Hey anders if you want ride in the rescue you can crash at my place i have a couch with a fold out bed.'
*I grab my gear and head back to the rescue and retract our awning then hop into the back*

*I grab my hose, disconnect it, and roll it up and throw it back on the pumper*
'Seeya guys back at the station'
*I take off my SCBA and put it in the SEV, unzip my coat then go to the fire station*
"SEV to COPA, I am at the station and available"

"RA1 copies COPA, clearing the scene enroute to quarters."
*I pack up the gear for the RA and hop in to the front seat. I flip off the lights, trun around and head back to the station.*

' yea jack i got it here on my pack'
*I unbuckle it and throw it back on the chrager and take my gear off*
' well jack, sorry about all this dude, i cant imagine, and if you need somewhere to stay, my house is open, ill even let you ride with me to work' i say with a chuckle
' but seriously, you need anywhere to stay or anything you ask me, or if you need me to cover some of your shifts, im here for ya'

*I disconnect us from the pumper and roll up the hose. I throw it on the truck. Then I get into the driver's seat and put on the headset.*

"Squad 1 to COPA, we're all done here. We're heading back to the station and we're available."

*I turn off the lights and drive back to the station.*

*i go down and pack up the ventalation stuff and put it back on the ladder. while the rest of my crew replaces their tools back and i climb in the officers seat as jack climbs in the drivers seat. i look back make sure all my crew is in*
'Take us home jack'
"Ladder 1 tp COPA well be in service returning"

"First floor is clear. We'll be packing up and should be clear in 10 minutes."
*I come out of the house and go outside. I go to the truck and turn off the scene lights, roll in the tarp, then put the TIC away as well as the extra SCBA.*
"Rescue 1 to crew, lets clear up."

* I get into the truck and start to take some of my gear off*
" Pumper 11 to copa, were in service, returning"

'hey thanks Moon, thanks Tim. I think I am going to rent an apartment for now so I have a spot for my dogs and a little privacy for me and the girlfriend . I'll see ya tomorrow at the station Tim.'

*I walk down to my POV and shut down the lights. I see a blue Ford Escape pull up and see Sam. I walk up to her and tell her to follow me to the Super 8 to rent a room until we can find a hotel. I hop in my Excursion and head to Truilt with Sam behind me.

*I wave at Anders as he leaves. We all get in the truck and clear up.*
"Rescue 1 to COPA, we're clearing returning to station."

*I look to see that everyone is on and then start moving.*
'Sure thing Bruce.'
