Hostage Taking at Mountain View

*I jump in the HR truck and put it in gear and as Libor blows off the hinges we take off for the door*

'Here we go Boss'

*Once we get to the front door I put the truck in park and wait*

**I poke up through the top of the HR truck, my gun pointed at the door. I'll be ready to bring the hostages into the HR truck once they're rescued, but the team has to enter soon. Aiming down the sights, I see the suspect with hid gun in his hand, but he's trying to cover both his eyes and his ears. Both hostages are also very disoriented.**

((Going to sleep; will be up tomorrow morning. Once the hostages are in the HR truck, I'll start the debrief and medical eval.))

*Suddenly, the LRAD kicks in. It's insanely loud, and I instinctively cover my ears and cringe hard. Both the hostage and the hostage taker reacts the same way, the hostage hotel manager even falls down to his knees clutching his ears with his hands.
I lock eyes with Greg for a second, he has backed further into the room now to get away from the door. He tries to lower his gun, but has no choice but to cover his ears again.

Then the room goes white and I feel a blast, then I fall onto the floor, concussed.
A flashbang, I think to myself... I lay on my back, still covering my ears, when the door get blown open. I shut my eyes and roll over to my side to screen myself from the oncoming attack.*

*I enter the room with my UMP-45, pointing it at the suspect, in the same time, moving slowly to the hostage, using my body to cover him*
*I grab the Liuetenant and the hostage helping them get in the HR truck*

**As the rest of TAC enters, I climb down from the hatch and extend my arm out to the hostage.**

'Come on, get in. You're safe now!'

**Halls is next.**

'Come on, Halls, you've got this. We're getting you out.'

**Both get into the HR truck. I slam the door shut and close it from the inside.**

"This is Bucello. Hostages are in the HR truck. Driving to the designated safe area."

**The designated safe area is an empty parking lot of a townhouse block not far from here. Lafferty will drive to that location and assist me in the back of the truck if needed before driving to the motel again.**

*I go back to the room*
*I point my gun to the suspect*
'Greg, put the gun down'
Kiddnaper: 'YOU ARE JUST ******* SHOTTING ME IF I DO'

*I hear the rear door slam and put the truck in gear*

'Here, we go boss'

*I then pull into the parking lot, put the truck in park and run to the back and open the door*

'We have arrived'

*The Suspect is in alot of panic and it is about to shot*

((Martins, aren't you going to disarm him? Get rid of his weapon or something, arrest him, then calm him down.))

**I go to talk with the hostage and Halls.**

Me: 'Sir, your name?'
Hostage: 'Eddie Gordon.'
Me: 'Alright, Eddie, are you hurt anywhere?'
Hostage: 'My ears and eyes hurt.'
Me: 'Can you see and hear well?'
Hostage: 'I think so, but I'm still seeing spots because of the flash grenade. I also have a bad headache.'
Me: 'Did you hit your head at any time? Did the gunman hit your head?'
Hostage: 'No.'
Me: 'Do you think you need an ambulance?'
Hostage: 'No, I'll just see a doctor this coming Sunday and see if I'm OK.'

**I make a note of the ex-hostage's responses.**

((Halls, you can answer these questions on your own.))

*As he is still attordoated by the flashbang, i kick him with my knee in the abdomen, taking of his shotgun.*
*As he gets up, i take out a couple of cuff's, detaining him*
*I drag him into the RRT truck, close to Bucello.*
"Suspect Secured and Detained"

"PC-6 to COPA, suspect secured."

"Understood, hostage welfare?"

'Well TAC guys it your scene now, I'll be outside.'

*I walk out to the patrol officers here.*

'Hey, so Lafferty went with TAC? Scene all secure?'

"Yeah, sarge. The 'spectators' are dispersing now they've seen the action."

'ok, you want to take off and back up Booth, hes following a stolen vehicle. I'll hang out here until TAC clears.'

"Ok sarge." I run over to my Charger, still parked on the side walk. I put my keys in the ignition, accelerate and speed off.

*I finish my report and head back out to my patrol car, I unlock the doors, open the door sit inside and turn on the ignition, I pull out of the station and on to the streets, for a patrol*

I radio Sgt. Libor:

"PC-1 to PC-6 do you need another unit? or should I go patrol?"

As I await a response I go on my daily a pursuit

"6 is clearing."

'Are we clear to head out?'

"all units cleared'

"8 is direct"

*I get back into my unit and turn off my lights and drive off*

"HR-1 clearing"
*I get back into my truck, turn the lights off, and drive back to HQ*

((You're kidding. I was waiting for Halls to respond. It ended without me...))

*I speak with Bucello while trying to clear my vision and shake off the headache.*

'Ahhh... I'm allright, just a bit of a headache and pressure in my ears from the flashbang. Nothing else... Good job on the rush, looks like everyone is ok?'
