Bomb Threat Triage Area

1 Baby in the hands of Captain Garcia. Unknown Injurys

1 GS wound outside also with Garcia I believe. Unknonw status.

1 Sever Burn Victim 3rd Degree burns over 80% of his body all with garcia out side the center.

I direct a young man with a forehead gash to triage. Green, no more information collected.

*I pull up to the triage area*

"Basic 2 is on-scene at the triage area. COPA, please advise on number of casualties."

*I get out and open the read doors of the ambulance. I get the trauma kit and set it on the bench seat. As I do this, a young man comes up to me. He has a gash on his forehead and is pouring blood*

"Hello, I'm Angus, an EMT. Do you have any other injuries?" I sak as I bandage the wound.

"No, just this."

"Okay. Please go sit over there," I say, pointing to the wall.

" Medic 1 copies DC-1 I am available. "

* I put my helmet on and grab the trauma kit with the ALS bag and walk over t the receiving area. *

"DC what is the firefighters condition?" I say into the radio

"DC1 to M1 Copy, assist O'Reilly when Forsyth Arrives"
(He has special orders for her, he'll lead you just be the medic, also he lives!)
"She's stable and fine, on IV and oxygen, check her out, she says she's jsut a little sore"

" Medic 1 Copies DC. "

* I look up to see a welcome sight as Zach comes over. *

' Well its nice to see you. '

*I come jogging up with my bad, while Richardson brings the cot and portable O2 tanks*

'Where do you need us Jamie'

' Triage Dave, we have already had 1 inbound Mayday and who knows how many more coming. '

* I prep an area for the arrivals *

*We come rolling in with Jess still clawing at the collar.*
'Ok, who am I giving report to?'

'I will claw this thing off If I have to Cory! you know I will'

'Cory, she's going to O'reilly, get Lafferty or someone if they can help out. She says she's fine, check her, she might actually be fine, and and Jess, calm down, or I'll have them sedate you and you'll be spending the next month in my hospital.'

* I look over at Jess and Cory. *
' I believe O'reilly has her, and for god sake Woman stop messing with that Collar lol. oh BTW Good Job on Floan, word has trickled down to the hospital. '

'Thanks for checking on me Halls. Means a lot.'
"Ladder 1 command to any crew on the third floor, deck gun is being used in there. Notify me when you get up to the third floor."
*I reposition the ladder and I put it so the deck gun is facing the inside so I could lessen the amount of fire inside of the building. I then activate the deck gun but don't put it on full blast. I spray side to side seeing a bunch of black smoke seep out slowly.*

*I stop clawing and just tap my fingers on the backboard*

'I'm gone back to scene again, who knows the state...'

(+1 woman walking to triage. She is green minor cuts and bruises. Mostly mental her friend was just killed)

*I see Cory and walk over to him*

'Hey, i'm free if you need some help'

*I say as I put my radio mic on my shirt*

'Angus, we have a 19 y/o female, rescued by us after a vending machine fell on her durring primary search of the building. I have vitals as, pluse 140 thready, B/P is 105/70, resp, 26 regular, but shallow, equal rise and fall of the chest, trachea is midline with no JVD noted. Chest is normal by plapation, and lung clear over all fields, abdomin is non tender and non rigid by plapation, PMS x4 pre and post spinal immobilization. We have her on 15 lpm of O2 via NRB, 300ml of .9 NS are in and she has a 16 ga in the L AC. We have her fully immobilized, but she has been noncompliant with the C-collar, she keeps clawing at it. We noted Sinus Tachy on the EKG. She is packaged and ready for you to transport. Do you need any thing else?'

'Jamie, I have absolutely no idea who did that but whoever they are also hit Hannahan.'

'Riles on scene, taking command of Triage. MCU is parking out front. If we've got any reds or yellows not priority, put them there. Greens have them check with the red cross desk and they'll do something with em'

*I put on my Red Command vest and check the area around.*

'I'll take any mental patients you cant'

'Dave, can you get you M5's cot and bring it over here. We can load Jess up for them so they can get out of here.'

'Leave her here for now guys, we'll do initial check, she might actually be fine, RA,. you guys should return to the fire, they're without a RIT right now'
I nod to Jess acknowledging we'll do our best on her if she is what she says she is

*sighs and keeps tapping my fingers on the board getting a bit annoyed at the collar on me*
'I hate these freaking collars.'

'Riles, heres our assessment form for you then.'
*I grab the form from under the Stokes and hand it to Riles. (assessment in the post to Angus)*
'Jess, get better soon you hear.'
*Doug and I get her off our cot and lay her in the stokes on the side walk by Riles truck.*
'Oh Riles, DC said he has special orders for her for Angus, I have no idea about them though.'
*Doug and I grab out cot and start walking back to the fire.*

'Im already better!! Better yet, It doesn't even hurt its just sore'

'I swear I am going to hit someone with this collar if it doesn't come off soon. Its aggravating the heck out of me'

*I kneel down next to Forsyth.*

"Ok, hello, and please calm down. Leave the collar be. Any pain, anywhere at all?"

'There is no pain. its just sore.'

"No pain? That's good. To double-check, there's no neck or back pain? None whatsoever?"

'None. Zero. Zip. Nada'

"OK. Excellent. I'll take you off of the C-collar and board now."

*I take the c-collar off and unbuckle the straps on the board. I also take out the IV and patch it up.*

"Did you inhale any smoke or anything?"

'No I didn't I had my mask on'

"Good. You can get up now and get back to duty," *I say as I stand and extend my hand.*

*I shake his hand*
'Thanks'
*I grab my helmet and water bottle and drink the water bottle*

*I shrug.*

"Just another day at the office."

*I pick up my radio.*

"COPA, be advised Forsyth is A-OK and back on duty."

((Don't forget to take out the IV or she'll be seeing me for a Plumonary Emboli next.))
"RA1 copies direct, added notation to rehab log. BREAK RA1 to L1 Forsyth, stop by if you want your turnouts."

*A young woman walks up to me. She has no visible injuries.*

"Ma'am, do you have any pain?"

"No."

"Did you breathe in any smoke?"

"No."

"Okay, you should be free to go, but let me check."

*I pick up my radio.*

"ES1, I've got a reported Green, but no injuries on inspection. Does she need to sing anything before I send her off?"

"Nope, if they're fine, send them to the red cross truck, they'll register there, we don't deal with signings, just send them off, make sure they see redcross though."

*I hear the evacuation order on the radio*

*I notice Deputy Chief Riles and walk over to him*

'Hey, well I guess we better get ready for some heavy work'

*I say as I walk over to double check all the equipment in my bag.*

" Command, Medic 1 ready to receive additional patients. "

* I walk over to Dave and chief Riles. *

' Hey gentlemen any word on more coming? '

'I just heard that we've got a few more coming in, I think fire has some guys sent over, plus we should have a couple walkins, I'm gonna get Dave to go out in a little while and look around in case of anything we might've missed'

*I see Jamie walk over*

'Hey, how are you doing?'

*I say, trying to sound cheerful*

'Sure thing Chief, just let me know when you want me to head out'

*I see Three guys just being brought in and I designate them off. I take the baby and send the other two off to paramedics standing by. Any takers?*

*He looks fine, reports were he was out cold though, I call for the baby MICU from Kitson to come get him to take care of him, while sticking two PEMS guys on him to see if they can figure out what happened*

* I run over to Garcia and accept care for the GSW. *

' Good afternoon im Jamie Morrison and I'll be your Paramedic today '

* I say to him with a smile. *

Victim: thx Jamie im Gordon and im gonna be your bleeding victim today.
Me: Well thats good at least we got that straight lol. Come on lets get u over to the other area away from all this.

* I take his hand and lead him over to the triage area for further assessment. *

* We walk over next to my ambulance and i sit him down on the back bumper. *

' Ok so lets see where did u get hit at? '
* He shows me his chest which on upper right quadrant reveals a small what looks to be a .22 cal hole, I look behind him and see NO exit wound. *

' ooook well im gonan give it to u straight, ya done gots a bullet stuck inside u somewhere lol, but no worries we're gonan get u all fixed up. '

* I go into the ambulance and grab some 4x4's, a dressing and some saline water. *

' Unfortunatly not a ton I can do for u here since u dont seem to be in a ton of distress, im gonna bandage u up and get u transported to the hospital. '

Gordon: Ok Jamie is it, thats a very pretty name.
Me: Yea I know lol. What do u do over here?
Gordon: Im a regional VP of Sales for an advertising company, just happened to be at a convention meeting when this happened.
Me: Wow thats a bummer, well ur gonna at least get a small vacation out of this lol.
Gordon: lol yea 1st one in ten years.
