The way I plan on running the academy for police is the way I intended in the old old ERT.
It would be set up, they would come in on a weekly basis, along with all the other cadets, and receive a basic ERT explanation. That would happen on Monday, Wednesday would be their first police class. They would be assigned a PD instructor and the cadets then would receive their first instruction class, which would be the instructor explaining the ERT PD basics, and responses. Then on Thursday, they would practice responses, patrol responses, and traffic stops. Friday would be a continuance of it, and then Saturday would be another class on instruction, which would be large scenes.
Sunday would be the start of a training call for them, a TAC call, they are required to secure the scene and then conduct a perimeter search after TAC has secured the structure (instructor will godmod civilians and TAC)
By Wednesday, they'll be ready for a three to four day class, of simulated training, where the instructor would give calls and they would respond. After that finishes, so either saturday or sunday, they would receive an assignment from me, and their final isntructor class from their PD instructor. I would then send them off with TOs in the field and they would spend a month or two riding with them, and pending recommendations would be assigned a unit, either alone or together, as well as their division. At this time, they would also receive a report of their pros and cons from their training from the instructor, ie what they need to work on and what they don't need to, and their TO, as in what they need to work well in the field. Their field time, I'd like to train them in both patrol, police and multi-tier calls.
