burke: do you really think you need to fill out the rescue? In my opinion they work great with the 4 they have or whatever, they are all active and stuff, i guess i'd rather see another truck staffed rather than having 6 active guys on a truck, cuz then it can kinda get obnxious with that many people posting from one truck...

I recruited some guy with my signiture on EMP, that's progress lol. I was the most active squad member on that last call, Raven was there in the beginning, but I was kinda left alone in the end.

Mat Deq is supposed to be on my rig but he never logged on and threrefore, showed up. So we have three active members and that's what my county uns with so I'm used to it lol. Fill the other trucks first in my opinion then you could micro manage a bit more to each individual truck in each station. Same goes for EMS.

Man, I remeber back in that day when we were still staffing the ladder and pumper...good times...But still, 3 guys is bare minimum, maybe 2 for a medical call. We need more firefighters. Cops are fine and EMS you can always merge.

I think you should merge rescue 1 and squad one. Aren't they for the most part the same? Even if the squad holds water, we got an engine and ladder for that.

You can't "just merge" EMS if there aren't any people in it. We have two ambulances, one is at half staff. I don't know the status of the rescue ambulance. If you mean merge it with Fire, and have firefighters work EMS shifts then that would work, but just merging units won't help.

I think we need to rethink how EMS is run and used, maybe the sorts of missions we get. Something is obviously not working as it should when we keep loosing people at this rate, and not getting any new recruits.

I'll talk to John, and if he feels he is fine, I'll adjust the rescue to a four person unit, maybe not change it at all.

I demand a minimum of three per truck. Max five.

Squad is a medical support unit and active rescue unit. Pumper is suppression. Ladder is rescue, and Rescue 1 is a support truck, mostly for the specialized stuff, like firefighter rescue, confined space, special rescues in the city, etc.

No you don't, Fire is by far the largest in the ERT. I'm adjusting it now to make it more sensible. EMS isn't being merged.

I'm going to get either another FF/EMT on the rescue ambulance, or borrow a new recruit off of EMS, since O'Reilly is on an LOA. By the time he's back I'm hoping to have him a partner. I've got a new plan for ERT Medical divisions.
I think we need to rethink how EMS is run and used, maybe the sorts of missions we get. Something is obviously not working as it should when we keep loosing people at this rate, and not getting any new recruits.
I think we need to actively recruit, I know a few of us aren't trying, and should start. I'm working now myself to rearrange everything to make this more interesting for EMS. The next calls will be ems based if I can pull them off.

Yes, fire is the largest. And I didn't know we had just 2 ambulances, I always thought we had 3 or 4. Amd yes. merging it with Fire would be the thing to do if absolutly neccessary, because you can always have the Paramedics run with the ambulances on medical calls and such. And again, you're right on EMS calls. I noticed that they have the patrol thing, but they still don't get their own calls. They're mainly support units on fires or shootings or whatever, there aren't a lot of medical calls.

I just made a call centred around EMS, and soon there will be more. I mean fire and police get their own centred ones, and I think that's what draws people to those, if I put an emphaisi on EMS as well, then it'll work better. I'm waiting for the support call request, then I'll dispatch a small fire of some sorts to keep the FD busy, but I will try to -at least for this summer- keep every unit to a max two day down time

Fire: Fill Rescue 1, finish staffing of Station 1, and open second Station 2 unit.
Update: Rescue 1 has had adjusted staffing, after a meeting with Lt. Hannahan. Firefighter SAR's are in high demand
Police Patrol: Completed ranks, plan to add in supervisor SUV shortly, returning PC6 as a service car
Update: After review, all units are expected to be filled shortly, pending graduation. At that time, PC-6 will be placed back in service, and the patrol supervisor will be assigned an SUV
Police Traffic: Will be adding in another stealth unit, a marked unit, a speeder's unit, and a Utility Service vehicle.
Update: Still looking for traffic recruits. Please gather new members!
Police TAC: Will be finishing staffing for HR-1 and promoting upwards through the ranks to open a third vehicle.
The team is steady, I'm meeting with OIC soon.
    EMS:
Struggling. Will begin combining units so each ambulance has two
persons on board, to allow for teamwork. Looking for new
    hires. No
medical experience needed, just a will to learn a bit!
We desperately NEED EMS, otherwise, we'll fail.

I am willing to transfer to an EMT on an ambo. Even though I would like to stay in the FD I don't care. We also if i'm going to stay in the FD, need to get a second person on the SEV. Those are my thoughts

I'm willing to discuss that. I feel the support vehicle, although it is good in theory, and real life, it's kinda a boring position, and I think you asked to stay when we chopped them due to low activity, though now you're back more, it's not really fair to you. This could go to be an unstaffed aux vehicle that we store on complex, for use if needed, however wouldn't be used often. I wouldn't transfer you to EMS, but instead, when O'Reilly returns to the EMS division, I'm going to give him back the EMT loan, and then transfer you to the RA, since you're running with them all the time now anyways.

If that works, lemme know, if not, message me and we'll talk

I feel maybe we might want to combine fire & EMS. I think having two fully staffed RAs will be better then three or four half staffed ambos. Then we could run medical task forces with ALS engine + ambo. Then we could keep the SEV as a first out med support like what some vollie depts do.

I personally wanna avoid the combination of EMS and fire, if not for every other reason, for the making the non firefighter medics feel inadequate, as their partner may say, actually, this is a fire scene, I take charge, blah blah blah, or having to force people to relinquish their firefighter role when joining an ambulance, to make sure a medic stays a medic.

No as for the half staffed, the RA and M-1 are both full staffed medic units. When O'Reilly returns from his LOA, we'll have 3 medic units staffed, one as a fire support, such as in a task force, or as an RRT, and the other two, EMS primary units, with medic ONLY trained personnel on board.

I just feel that if I said to the fire department, let's get some FF's here on ambulances, but you can't be FF's anymore, they'd say nope, regardless if it was EMS or fire division

I am looking for people to train in SAR. Most the positions in need are either medical or SAR. I am not training ANY MORE HRES for a long time, we're currently over run. HRES were supposed to make up an elite class, so no more are getting trained, the onlyHRES type training getting received for a while is SAR.

Kaizer also volunteered to do medical training, so that's all good too. Once again, all training goes through me, as I'm acting CC.

SEV will probably get set as an aux unit that isn't staffed until needed. That depends on the state of EMS, it'll get updated in a couple days though either way.

Next unit in station 2 will probably be marine rescue.

I think we will try to get some new firefighter recruits, then train up a firefighter from that unit, so they get their SAR cert. I don't want to leave too many spots open, since firefighter basic is still an essential peice on every unit..
