Manhole Entrapment

(no re-read what burke said if someone on board is a medic TEC adds the ALS equipment but he doesn't have the equpiment.)

'you can send em with angus but i'm going to advise against it your the Lt. though thats why they pay you the big bucks to make the decisions.'

*I sigh.*
'No. Mitch, go with Angus. We'll follow behind you.'

"Thanks Angus."

All physical assessment is fine. Only the broken leg. I stabilized the leg and we should be able to transport soon.

'Mitch did you get an I.V. in him? we should have N.S. running and it'll help the E.R. out when they need to push the drugs to counteract the poison.'

"Good, I'll get the stretcher."

*I pack up the jump kit and head back to the truck. I replace it and get the stretcher out, rolling it over to Mitch."

*I look around and see people looking at us wondering what we're doing.*

"Just putting one in now Moon"

I put the cuff around his arm, and find a vein. I push the needle into the vein and when I see the blood I remove the needle. I then tape the I.V.

"Alright Angus, 1.2.3 lift!"

We lift him onto the stretcher and get him ready for transport.

"Units operating at the manhole rescue, status please?"

"M.Daniels to COPA, My patient is ready for transport. Just finalizing all the treatment and then we will transport."

I continue getting the patient ready for transport.

"Hannahan to COPA, my patient appears stable and I will have one firefighter on each truck except for the other EMS unit not RA."
*I get up and grab the backboard from the side of the truck and place it next to the boy.*
'Hey Moon, is you're not doing anything, help me with this c-collar.'

'rodger'

*I head over and help put the c-collar on the second patient.*

*I hear that Squad 1 will be responding.*
'Damn, why didn't I think of that!'
*I sigh then get the backboard next to the patient.*
'Thanks Moon. Let's get this person on the backboard now.'
"Rescue 1 to COPA, disregard my last transmission. I'll let Squad 1 roll with EMS."

I get in my gear, wait for everyone to get in, and roll out with the sirens blaring.

"Squad 1 to COPA and OSC, we are responding code 3, ETA 10 minutes"

I drive trough traffic, one person obviously missed the big red truck with sirens and lights.
'DAMN, is he blind?!' I grab the PA mic. 'PULL OVER TO THE RIGHT!' He finally notices the giant truck and pulls over. 'Geez, we're do people learn to drive these days?'

"Rescue 1 to Squad and RA-1, we copy. We have the kids out but they;re dealing with poison in there body and there isn't enough of us to go with the medics to the hospital. Just giving an update."

*Jansen pulls the truck onscene.*

"Squad 1 onscene."

*I get out and grab my radio.*

'Hey Hannahan, what do you need us to do?'

*I get on the EAT*

I put off the siren, get out and get over to Hannahan. 'Nice to see you again Lt.'

"Units on scene, can I have a report of what's on the go there? Gettin a little confused over here"

"Squad 1, Jansen, to COPA we where asked on scene as additional manpower for EMS, out"

I grab a BLS bag off the rig and walk back to Hannahan and Davis

*I walk over to Jansen and the crew.*
'Well we suspect all three kids to have some degree of poisoning here and it's too much for us to handle on our own. I'll need you to break up and ride with EMS while they transport because they can't go by themselves. Have Wilt with the truck, Ewan with Doug, Davis with Cory and you with Angus. You go it?'
*I look around at all of the trucks around me.*
'Alright.'
*I walk back over to the boy.*
'Let's get him on the stretcher Moon.'

"Yeah Squad, I've got that much, I'm just a little confused as to why there was more man power needed"

"Squad One copies" I say as I listen to Hannahan. 'Okay, wasnt PEMS available for EMS manpower?'

"Since the RA responded Squad 1 comes with due to low number of RA1 Staffing."

"RA1 on the scene"
*I put the mic down hop out grab the ALS kit and the monitor and head to Hannahan.*
'Alright LT, which one do you want me to take? Also do you know what poison and what dosage they have been exposed to?'
(I did read through the topic, but since it wasn't any where I could have know with out being there, I asked IC.)

'Mitch, get a stretcher and load a kid up. Remember to backboard him and get a c-collar too.'
*I look at Jansen.*
'I wanted any closest EMS units and you guys were the closest.'
*I walk over to Cory.*
'They all have some amount of poisoning in there body from hydrogen sulfide. Ask Moon how much since he was the one who got them out of the hole so take the worst looking one. The kid I checked was fine but with Moon and Mitch, I'm not too sure about. Ask them. I'll be right back.'
*I walk back over to the officers side to check the EAT just in case I may have missed something and I see Joe's message. I type in a message to him.*

Rescue 1 to PC-6 we'll try. The kids are semi conscious and aren't too oriented but we'll try to get something out of them.

"EMS-1 to Keller command, do you have the victims teated? Can we just load and go or do they still require evaluation and treatment."

*I pull onto Keller and stop in front of Rescue-1. I press the anti-theft button, step out, and go around back and pull out the stretcher.*

"EMS-1 out"

*I roll it over to the crews and the kids*

*After receiving my orders, I immeadiatly head over to the RA.*

'Hey Cory, I've been told to help you out. What do you need?'

"6 clear"

'We could load them up now.'
*I speak up louder.*
'Hey guys, if they get better in your ambo's, ask them what there names are, number, everything like that. If they don't come to by the time you get to the ETC, let me know. Just text me the info and I'll pass it on Thanks.'
*I walk over to the kid near me as he moans and groans but still refuses to talk to me. I then grab the stretcher, get him on with the help of Moon and we roll him into Angus' rig.*

"DCF1 clearing scene. Available on Radio."

*I walk back to my truck and hop in. I put my portable in the charger. I look on the EAT to see the light force has a call. I then put my truck in gear and drive back to my house*

I load my patient into the RA and get him set up for transport. Cory looks that he will be alright with the kid to take him to the hospital.

[b]"Hannahan, I'll drive the rig to the hospital and I will pick you guys up there. Cory is fine with my patient. Hows that sound?

'Okay. Moon, your with Angus. I want at least one Paramedic on each truck and remember to interrogate them guys if they come to. Alright, lets load everyone up.'
*I make sure the stretcher in Angus truck with the victim is locked in and I close the back door.*

'I still don't think we should be transporting ALS patients in a BLS rig but okay w.e you say your the boss.'
*I hop up in the bus(ambo)*



(Okay so we don't screw this up when we get to the hospital...I have the patient that is concious....there is the broken leg/unconscious and the uncontentious left lets state which one you have when you grab one.)

*Mitch rolls a kid up in to the RA and looks like he's heading up front to the driver's seat when I stop him.*
'Hey Mitch, What information do you have for me on this kid?'
*As I wait for a response I get my general impression.*
(Guys I have to go to Louisville today so I won't be on again till 1800-1930 my time.)

'Well, every patient is ALS so go code if they get worse. Alright lets move 'em.'
*I go to the officers side of my truck and hop in.*

'So, with who was I again?'

I say while looking around

*I climb into the cab and look back at Cressler.*

"Ready to roll?"

'I guess lets roll'

*I walk over to Cory.*

'Hey since I'm riding with you, I'll drive and you can go ahead and take care of that kid, sound good?'

*We load the patient on the stretcher and load him into the ambulance. Jaime steps in and sits on the bench next to the patient, I step in on the other side of the stretcher and grab the chart and hand it to her*

'All set? Also can you get a new set of vitals when you get a chance?'

*I step out, shutting the doors, and I step into the cab. I put the keys in, press 'Anti-Theft' and pull away*

"EMS-1 to Central, one juvenile to ERT hospital."

'Jansen, you're with Angus and Moon.'
*I look out my window and wait to move forward.*
'Let's follow them Mitch. Your driving again.'

'Got it' I run over to Moon and hop on board before they leave.

'I'm with you guys, what do we have here?'

*I pull away from the scene, flipping on the sirens as we hit the road.*

"Cory, BP was normal, Respirations were low and pulse was a little fast. Sure Hannahan, I'll pack up and we'll head off."

I pack up all the Rescue's equipment and make sure all the lockers are shut and everything is there. We don't want to forget anything . I hop in the drivers seat, turn the anti-theft off and wait for Hannahan to get in.

(I'm in but hold up.)
*I almost forget that TEC is coming and I jump out as the TEC truck pulls up. I greet the group of three men and I give them a summary of what I was told it's like down there. I then see a PPD car finally pull up and I tell them what I seen and they tell me they're going to watch over the TEC guys.*
'Thanks guys. Be careful down there.'
Oh yeah, definitely!
'Alright.'
"Rescue 1 to COPA, show us en route to the ETC and mark us unavailable for calls."

"Understood, reason please?"

'Chuck, We're going Code 3 to the ETC. he's been exposed to nerve agent, according to the MSDS.'
"RA1 COPA We'll be enroute to the ETC, notify Dr. Kaizer that we have 1 vic on board, 3 total coming in, all with H2S,m a nerve agent exposure per the MSDS and ERG."
*I reach over and grab the NRB mask and hook the patient up to 15 lpm. I start a 16 ga IV in the right AC, in case the Doc wants to give meds.*

I start the truck and head to the ETC.

"COPA, the reason we are going to the ETC is to pick up our crew. They are in an ambulance and are taking their patients to the ETC."
