Alley Fires

"L-1 command to P-11, we copy. COPA, we have fire extinguished now. Beginning overhaul."
(Lets make it to page 2 so take it a bit slow with overhaul.)
*I finally bring all of the trash bags back and I grab my bear claws off of the bumper. I go over to burnt up garbage and start ripping through it to look for any fire.*
"L-1 crew, finish up our side. Take out any fire you may see."

(We weren't when I was typing lol)'
"Ladder 1 OSC to Beard, give me an update."
*I put my hand back down off of my mic to finish up with the trash bags.*

*i move up to the last dumpster off and open my stream a bit more, and i move up on it and see what apears to be a small fuel can*
"Beard to all units if got a small gas can in this last dumpster thats off we need to get back and protect expostures"

* I begin sifting through the rubble, poking and throwing trash left and right but i get Nothing but a hge wet mess. *

' Im good on my area over here Moon. continue with yours then lets pack up. Jack, go ahead and kill your line and have Van Der Water start rolling them up. Tim, lets police up our gear and get ready to Move out. '

" Pump-11 command to Ladder 1 OSC, Be advised we are beginning to clean our area. you may need to notify Public works that they have some baord up to do where the fence used to be. "

"Ladder 1 OSC, we copy. Can you get some foam onto that gas fire in the second dumpster near our side of the alley?"

*i back up and i start spraying downt the exposures to prevent further damage*

' Tim, Jack can u get a BIG box of Baking Soda from the truck and go spread it on that gas can lol, J/K Lets drag the Foam unit out and put a little on that can. That hopefully takes care of it. '

* I yawn and Txt Illy saying i wouldnt be able to make it for obvious reasons. but we can do lunch or dinner tomorrow. I walk with jack and tim carrying the line for the foam set-up. *

*I drag my line back towards the dumpsters after already having drug it to the pumper. I grab the foam unit from Floan and twist it on to my nozzel. ((I am asuming this is the strainer type system)) I open the line on the dumpster and see the foam fly into the dumpster. The flames quickly dwindle down under the spray.

'How bout that guys?'

(i'm not sure what system we have thats a good question we use a POK nozzel)


*I finish up with the overhaul and put the pike back.*
'Hey probie roll that hose.'

'Alright, thanks Anders. L-1 crew, overhaul this dumpster. P-11, you can go ahead and roll hose or whatever you may want to do.'
"Ladder 1 command to COPA, fire is out. We're overhauling now."
*I go over to the extinguished garbage bin and start rummaging through things trying to find any hotspots at all but I find none. I then go over to the truck, put down my bear claw and see my tank is getting very low due to the fact I didn't change it from the last call. I dismaiss it seeing I have about 10 minutes left and deactivate my PASS alarm every time it activates by itself. I then grab bags and toss them back into the alley.*

*I walk out of the ally and put my pack down on the ground next to the truck. I walk over to the pump and open the tank fill valve and then shut it when it is full. I walk over and see that they are almost done with overhaul.*
"L1 to comand I'm shutting down the 2.5 line off the truck."
*I shut down the line and then open the drains.*

*I take of the nozzel and the foamer. and let the water drain. I walk back to the pumper and put the foamer back and the nozzel by the pump panel. I walk my line then start draging it back.

'Hey I will hop up top if one of you wants to help me fold hose'

*I disconect the nozzle from the hose and walk it out then i drag it back to the truck and pack it back on, then i grab a 6 ft hook and go over to the dumpster and start sifting through the trash*

*I finish my sifting then watch Beard sift through the garbage. I take off my mask then smell the nasty smell of burnt garbage. I then go out of the alleyway and make my way to the truck. I take my SCBA off of my back and take out the bottle. I put the bottle in backwards after taking another SCBA out of the extra SCBA compartment near the rear of the truck. I click the new SCBA in and put it in my seat. I take off my jacket and start typing my report in the EAT.*

Summary: Units arrived on scene seeing that the alley was burning due to trash on the ground and the initial dumpster fire. Pumper 11 arrived and knocked down a wooden wall in order to start the attack on the fire. All units started to attack the fire starting out on the sidewalk and working towards the middle of the alley. Fire was knocked down with add. fire units taken off of standby. Overhaul was started and fire was knockdown.
Other: Have public works repair the broken wall.

*I sent the EAT report and I get back out. I grab my mic and ask COPA if we could clear.*
"Ladder 1 command to COPA, can we clear?"

*i shut down the 4 inch disconect it, drain it and pack it. then i climb in the drivers seat and take my coat off*

*I finish folding hose with Casey's help. I see the supply line is disconected so I do a walk around of the truck. I shut all the compartments after seeing everything is put away. I take of my SCBA and put that back iin the last compartment before taking my coat and helmet off and putting them in the truck. I sit in my seat and wait to be cleared.

((I am off now, remember the PM from Floan))

" Pump-11 clear, returning to Station. "

* Jack puts the Engine in gear and drives back to the house. *

' Dude we need to hurry we are going to be terribly late for class. '

*i reach up and shut down the emergency lights and wait for Hannahan to tell me we are clear*

* i throw my scba back into the seat after changing the bottle and hop back in the cab*

( sorry guys, sooo busy this weekend, i should be good for this week for calls though)

(im only doing this cause i dont want to miss the class)
*i hear Hannahan say were clear and i put the truck in drive and and release the parking brake and head back to the station*
