I guess that'll be good but maybe people should be using that until after the mod if finished. But yeah that sounds good.

    Not a bad idea.

Maybe we could stick mainly to text based rpg. But If maybe every few weeks we can find a date and time in common where most of us can get on team speak, and do it by voice.

I was with a VD game before, similar to this, but it failed horribly mainly for the one reason, during the summer when no one is doing anything it's real easy to get time, but when people have to work and what not, and with school and studies and all that fun stuff, plus the time zones (like crazy here) it's hard to find a time where everyone can get on board, that's why I went with text, because it doesn't have to be real time

Well when we get bigger, it may be an option, but right now, with the time zone spread and the members so thin, it wouldn't work well. Really for that you needa bout 15 members in a time zone, and not just one person, but one full unit themselves. PD is easy,it's fire that's hard

had the same idea today. Linder, why didn't ya introduce yourself in a p.m? xD need to know whose on my engine. Anyways, when we get more people, i guess we can figure out a way to track units and stuff when we do teamspeak. paper and pen+map with arrival time. I would imagine everyone knows t.o's do the radio updates, so it would be cool, then on scene figure out something. future though

That would be cool, but I think I have to agree with DC on this, but at the rate ERT is growing it may not be that far away.

I think that it would be hard for everyone to keep track of calls and stuff. Besides, a lot of people can't be on at certain times.

I think i was misunderstood. I meant for like clarity or stuff like that, ooc. I didnt mean for it to be like what this is, this would still be the main. Teamspeak would be like for clarity and chit chat.

just have it to do the incidents themselves, and make communications clear. It's way easier. Still post on the forums what's going on, just communicate out each action.

I have to agree with Garcia on that. The Call area shouldbe more of a full communications centre. From what I understand, there should be little bits of planning going on over msn or through pm for certain calls, like say I might talk to one of my medics and say, alright McGuire, when we find him, lets have this happen or whatever, just so the call goes smoothly. Stuff that shouldn't be in the Operations Area.

Teamspeak would just be kinda defeating the purpose in my opinion since instead of typing it in a pm for when they get on, you are talking to someone that you have to arrange a time to get on with them. Teamspeak works well for communication in games, say if we were a game clan, but I personally would have my doubts about it here
Yeah, I was in a voice dispatch clan before, and it worked well during those two summer months when we had everyone relatively free, but come september when vacation time ended for most people, it was hard to arrange times. Some pople had Famalies and children that had things on the go, so staying up until 1 am wasn't possbile. It's really messy with small clans

You know what I think would be a pretty cool setup?? I don't know of a way just yet to do it or anything but maybe Burke could. It's a long shot idea that probably won't ever work and of course it'd be completely optional, but what if for those of us that have cell phones were to give our numbers to Burke, and he setup something in Microsoft Outlook or something of the sort that when there's a call, he can post it on here, and then also send out the call in a text message to people's cell numbers that he's been given. Kinda like beepers you know? That would be awesome. But again it's a long shot idea and I don't think it'll happen, but it would be pretty cool

Thats an awesome idea. If we didn't check out computers the text would tell us to get onto ERT. Awesome Idea!

Ya exactly. And like if we can't get on the computer, we'll know that there's a call in progress and as soon as we have a chance, to get on

It's defiitley possible. Or maybe a recording of bells and then the call in a text. When on the computer, a pop up comes up and we can all talk as if we had portable radios

I am, and I could set up a text alert system, but again, I wouldn't want to be asking for cell numbers, becuase really it's not in what I need to know to run the site functionally
